How we work with clients using SunGard Banner

When working with a client to build a framework for Institutional Intelligence, ASR follows two primary principles:

  1. Deploy a framework that is consistent with the technology direction of the institution (usually driven by the institution’s ERP choice; SunGard Banner).
  2. Limit the institutions need to buy more ‘tools’ and leverage those that are already available within the technology they own.

SungGard Higher Education has been hard at work during these last few years building new tools and extending Banner in an effort to make data more accessible. Yet there are still many technology choices to be made and few institutions will have the financial and human resources to invest in all of these tools at once. ASR’s consultants are accelerators of institutional intelligence. We will help you understand your options and implement those that are consistent with your goal to distribute institutional intelligence more widely across campus.

Here are some of the things we can do with and for clients using SunGard Banner:

  • Define an institutional intelligence strategy.
  • Deliver an institutional intelligence framework with or without Banner ODS and EDW.
  • Deploy Banner ODS and/or EDW to include unique institutional variables and business practices that were not considered in the default templates provided by SunGard.
  • Optimize the EDW for predictive analytics and prospective reporting.
  • Leverage the business intelligence tools of your choice that you probably already own (e.g. Oracle reporting, Hyperion, Cognos, or even Excel).
  • Surface dashboards, decision support tools, and strategic reports inside you’re Luminus or other Portal.
