ASR Presenting on Data Governance at HEDW Conference in Oregon
April 2, 2018; Potomac, MD
ASR is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Higher Education Data Warehousing Forum (HEDW) annual conference, hosted at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon on April 8-11, 2018. Kevin Meldorf and Scott Flory will represent ASR, discussing our Student Success Analytics (SSA) solution and presenting “Finding Data Governance in your Data Warehouse.”
In this session, Kevin and Scott will explore how data governance already exists within your institution, and discuss the symbiotic relationship between data governance and data warehousing. Data governance provides the structure necessary for institutional agreement on data definitions and business logic when creating or expanding a data warehouse. Similarly, a data warehouse project can support your data governance efforts by providing a tangible purpose and fostering buy-in. They will discuss ASR’s comprehensive approach to leveraging the warehouse development process to formalize your data governance strategy.
The Higher Education Data Warehousing Forum is a network of higher education representatives dedicated to sharing knowledge about data management, best practices, data warehousing designs, institutional reporting strategies and more. HEDW members are technical developers, data access and reporting systems administrators, data custodians, institutional researchers and consumers of data representing a variety of internal university audiences. The conference includes two and a half days of sessions and events. Typical conference topics include data governance, BI strategy, data-informed culture, data quality, metadata and data definitions, data modeling, and project and program management, among other topics.About ASR:
